As we grow older...

posted by tristan @ 2/17/2007 10:08:00 AM

moods were dampen, spirits were surprisingly low. What happened to all of us? We seems to dislike Chinese New Year as we grow older. Reunion dinner is like any other normal meal where everyone sit around and fulfil the CNY criteria. Are we just doing for the sake of doing?

I used to enjoy pre-chinese new year shopping for goodies each year, accompanying mum to the market to get food for steamboat, getting somewhat excited over what to wear to relatives house (treating it like a fashion show), of coz, going to friends house for some games and house visiting.

But somehow, I don't feel it anymore. Is it the fact that everyone have already stepped out into the working world, too engrossed with our own committment that we eventually forget about our very own culture happenings? Why can't we feel or have the energy that our parents have for chinese new year each year?

How I wish for a getaway on this long weekend.

Wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year, and to become a FAT PIG for the great year ahead. *Oink Oink*
